Patio Shades Increases Healthy Playground Space For Kids
The season of summer is when the children and their friends come out of the house to play. Some children play in the yard area, like throwing or swatting at balls. Other children are fortunate to have a pool at home they can use for cooling off during the hottest days. All these activities suffer from one danger: the health risks of prolonged exposure to sun light.
One of the first health consequences will be a run-of-the-mill sun burn. A sun burn is painful but fortunately temporary. More worryingly is that the sun burn can lead to longer term problems, such as skin cancers. For children, such exposure should be prevented as much as possible to ward off these problems in the future horizon.
Part of the answer lies in ensuring adequate cover such as hats, long-sleeved shirts, or sun block. However, another method is to install patio shades for the house. These exterior patio shades are fixed and permanent, for the times when the kids just forget to put on the hat or sun block. Outdoor shades have another benefit in that they add value to the home.

Is it Bed Bugs or Dust Mites? Do You Know The Difference?
Many people don’t realise that bed bugs and dust mites are two very different creatures and often confuse one with the other. This can lead to the wrong culprit being identified and of course the wrong treatment being used to get rid of the pest.
The dust mite lives in areas where dust collects, it is very small and invisible to the naked eye. They tend not to move around much preferring to spend their entire life in one place.
A common misconception is that dust mites bite, this is not the case, they have neither the tools nor the inclination to do so. What they do is to live in large numbers in our houses, especially in our mattress. Those of us that realise they are there find the though unpleasant enough but others amongst us are highly allergic to them and in particular their waste products.
Dust Mites survive on dander, this is the tiny particles of skin that we shed at night. This dander works it way through to our mattress where the dust mites lie in wait. But they don’t have it that easy. They have to wait for bacteria and mould to break the skin down to an edible form first. This bacteria itself requires moisture to do its job. This moisture is conveniently provided by our own perspiration making our mattress an ideal home to the dust mite.
